Ok, so I’ve got to get better about posting these notices in advance!
Tomorrow night is our monthly meeting. Once again it’s 7pm at Badger Prairie. I should be arriving about 5:30 to sneak in a couple laps at QR. Leaving from BP shelter.
Here is what’s in store:
1. I will not condone another dry meeting. I’ll pick up refreshments for those in attendance.
2. I will not forget the socks this time!
3. Race prep and volunteer rundown. Our two fundraiser races are about two months away and we need to start planning for staffing both of the events. There are certain changes being made that will dictate a good turnout of volunteers to pull off these two awesome races. I’ll give the rundown and provide details at the meeting.
4. CORP Wishlist - A quick rundown of what people think CORP needs to continue to grow and be successful. More importantly we’ll brainstorm ways to make these wants become reality.
5. Benefit for Garett. Discussion of what we are doing to help Garett kick cancers ass and ideas of how we can help in the future.

Last year Jesse Lalonde did a really sweet Capital Off Road Pathfinders print in recognition of the work we do on local trails. I only received a very limited quantity of these beauties. Consider yourself lucky if you have one! The president didn’t even reserve one for himself! Remember this:

Yeah, it’s a good one. One of the lucky guys to get a framed copy was Garett Kipp in recognition of his five years as race director for the 12 Hours of Blue Mound. Over the past five years the Blue Mound race was CORP’s sole fundraiser. Garett’s work provided the funds needed to keep our club moving forward. For those who haven’t heard Garett was recently diagnosed with and has started treatment for lung cancer.
Well it’s time to step up and help Garett out. Let’s call it returning the favor and showing our support for his years of dedication. I’ve heard some talk recently about people wanting to see the above print turned into a t-shirt design. Well, I’m happy to say it’s going to happen. Better yet the t’s are being sold as a benefit for Garett.
How’s this going to work? Am I spending more club money on softgoods? Not hardly. Enter the amazing guys that are Twin Six:

Alright so what does the super cool company Twin Six have to do with CORP? Well, besides being past race sponsors (and participants) they will be doing the work of turning Jesse’s print into a sweet t-shirt design. The even more amazing part is that T6 has offered to print 100 shirts, sell them from their website, and donate the profits from the sale to Garett to help him kick cancers ass!
The printing and sale is a still a few weeks off but rest assured I’ll have posts up here and on the message board to remind everybody about the sale. It’s a one time deal. 100 shirts…..no more. Don’t miss your chance to grab a limited edition CORP shirt and help a great guy in the process.
See garettkipp.com for more info about Garett and his cancer.

Ok, so I’ve been a little busy and haven’t gotten a lot accomplished lately. Time for an update on what’s going on in the world of CORP.
IMBA Summit 2010
They are headed to Augusta, GA. Yes, we weren’t number one this time around. My take on not landing the summit is to learn from it, move on with our planned projects, and land the summit in 2012. Our focus over the next two years needs to seriously focus on building club strength and increasing our urban riding opportunities.
Elver Park
We had a great meeting with Madison City Parks and this project is moving forward. The next step is putting together a proposal letter to submit to the parks committee. I’ll be looking for some help on this and have a strong crew backing me up. Without the pressure of a 2010 summit we don’t need to feel rushed with this project. I’d much rather make sure we get this one right the first time.
Spring Work Days
You guys kicked some serious ass. Thank you for the incredible effort that went into the trails this spring.
Summer Fun
Keep your eye on the forums for group rides, trips, cookouts, etc. We’ll be trying to get out and about as much as possible!
See you on the trail!

That’s right - we are cutting new trail at QR! The hard part is done (corridor clearing) and now we need a day of bench cutting and berm building to finish things off. Meet in the parking lot/pond at 8 am or come find us on the trail if you can’t make it at 8.
If you haven’t attended a work day before, no worries. I recommend long pants, long-sleeves, and work gloves. Tools will be provided and someone that’s helped out before can show you what needs to be done.
