Cam-Rock IV Trail Day Update and Heather’s

Published by themayor1 under Uncategorized

What: Finally start building Cam-Rock IV trails! After six long years of work with Dane County Parks, we have all the O.K.’s to go ahead. We should easily double the singletrack at Cam-Rock this year.

Where: Cam-Rock III parking lot.

When: 8a-12p Saturday. Heather’s afterward.

Why: ‘Cause lets face it, Cam-Rock has some sweet single track, but there just isn’t enough of it. We all want more sweet single track to ride at Cam-Rock don’t we?

After: Plan to head over to Heather’s for a burger and refreshment of your choice on the house. I just talked to Heather and she is all about supporting our trail building. I told her in exchange I would tell everyone who rides Cam-Rock to stop by for a drink afterward, and see if we could get her logo up on our site as a sponsor.

Other: Don’t sweat it if you need to come later or leave early. Just find us at the North end of the existing trails, or follow the noise to where we are. Dress for the weather of course and wear boots. This time of year that means you should plan to get a little muddy. A change of pants and shoes for afterwards may be a good idea.

Sponsor Spotlight - Mongoose Bicycles

Published by Bcbear under Uncategorized

( MADISON, WI ) March 14, 2008 – Mongoose Bicycles is pleased to announce a grant to the Capital Off-Road Pathfinders (“CORP”), enabling the Madison, WI-area organization to purchase key trail-building tools. These tools will be extensively used and include hoes, McLeods, Pulaskis, shovels, brush cutters, digging bars and a Knaack jobsite storage chest.

“Long known as a ‘dirt brand’, it’s only natural for Mongoose to partner with CORP,” said Mongoose Director of Product Development Darren Salsbury. “Not only has the group acted in the best interests of Madison-area mountain bikers by working with local government bodies to open up new trails and expand existing networks, they’ve also brought us events such as the 12 Hours of Blue Mound. Best of all, myself and other employees here frequent CORP-developed Quarry Ridge Park in Fitchburg, WI during lunch hours. It makes for a great mid-day getaway out on the dirt.”

“Without the support and generosity of Mongoose, the trail building efforts and success of the Capital Off-Road Pathfinders would not be possible” adds Scott Baryenbruch, CORP Trail Manager. “These tools will allow us to add four to six miles of trails at Cam-Rock County Park, begin an expansion project at Blue Mound State Park, and further develop the freeride section of Quarry Ridge Park.”

As an “Above And Beyond Corporate Sponsor” of IMBA, the International Mountain Bicycling Association, Mongoose worked with IMBA to bring the trail care crew to the Madison area later this summer. Mongoose employees will assist CORP during a weekday trail event at Quarry Ridge.
