Energy….

Published by Bcbear under Uncategorized

Energy makes the world go ’round.  Gas in cars, food in the mouth, or water through a dam it all propels us forward.  Tonight was my energy.  To see around 20 people, many relative newcomers, at our monthly meeting is the energy that keeps me moving forward with CORP.  Tonight was the start of a great year.  Are there lots of areas CORP can improve on?  Absolutely!  It’s no fun if we don’t have something to shoot for.  What drives me forward is knowing I’ve got a lot of people willing to go to work with me to make our trails better than ever.  Thank you to everybody who made it out tonight.

Meeting tally:

-12 new members

- one $1000 anonymous donation.  Yes, that’s three zeros.

-three more riders committed to BALLS.

-41 total members……59 to go to hit 100!!

-One CORP collective ready to drive forward in 2010.

See you on the trails,

Off and Running…

Published by Bcbear under Uncategorized

January 9th, at the Cronometro Bike Swap, the 2010 version of CORP was unveiled.  The booth looked great and word started spreading.  CORP has no plans to sit idle in 2010…..it’s full speed ahead for a great year of riding!

Maybe you’ve noticed the biggest change.  For the first time ever CORP is asking for paid memberships.  Why would we do this?  Well, in order to cement CORP into the future plans for area trails and build a framework for longevity it was a logical move to make.  CORP will soon be a full-on 501(c)3 non-profit organization.  Bylaws have been written and a board of directors elected.  Now it’s your turn to become a charter member of the Capital Off Road Pathfinders.

I wasn’t sure what to set as a goal for memberships in 2010 but a number kept popping up my head.  It’s easy to remember….and maybe ambitious.  CORP could have 100 paid members by the time riding season rolls around.   Let’s set a firm date of June 1st.  To get where you want to be you need to know where you are at…..well I’m proud to say only 11 days after releasing the membership form we already have 19 fully paid CORP members!  Only 81 more by 6/1/2010.

So, what do you get for joining.  First and foremost you are granted voting privelages at CORP meetings.  When charting our future it is your voice that will be heard.  Second, you will be directly supporting the very trails that you love so much.  But wait, there’s more!  If you join CORP by 2/14 you will be entered in a drawing for a $50 Erik’s gift card as well as a custom CORP jersey!  Did I mention that anybody joining by the 2/14 also gets a really sweet pair of Swiftwick custom CORP socks…..heck those are worth $12 on their own!

Oh yeah, the membership form: http://madcitydirt.org/forum/index.php?topic=1414.0

I look forward to a great 2010 riding season and working together to make CORP’s goals a reality.

See you on the trail,
